1. Download Xcode (3.4 GB) from the App store on your Mac

  2. Install the Vision OS platform (7.16 GB) either during the Xcode installation or after from Xcode > Settings > Platforms tab

  3. Plug in the Vision Pro with the data cable

  4. Allow access on both your laptop and in the headset (if not already done)

  5. [in Xcode app] Go to Xcode > Open Developer Tool > Reality Composer Pro

  6. [in Reality Composer Pro] Go to File > Developer Capture…

  7. A Developer Capture window should appear and show the name of the headset connected (VP in our case). When you see the “Ready” message you can click the photo button to take a screenshot (note: click the timer button that will appear instead of the video camera button to take screenshots) or the video camera button to start a screen recording. You will need to click a “refresh” button or even take the headset off for a bit as those buttons will disappear if you don’t start recording within 1min of the device being ready.

You should now be able to unplug the device from your computer, you will still be able to do screen captures and transfer the files without the data cable.
